in march (2010) my grandmother, mildred schoeman, turned 100. i've always enjoyed listening to her stories and exploring the farm. living so far away, and being able to spend little time with her, i took this opportunity to document both her and her farm in cedar falls, iowa. this farm has been her home and work place for decades. my grandfather died there. my mother was raised there. my uncles were raised there. my cousin was raised there. many workers came and went. many animals came and went. and through everything, my grandmother continues to live alone on this farm. she is the most amazing woman and such an inspiration to everyone who comes in contact with her...
